The Role

If you’ve proven yourself as a top-notch support engineer (Linux / Windows) and you’ve either gone beyond that or are looking to progress beyond that, this could be the job for you.

As a key member of a small operations team (4 people) you’ll be expected to take on a variety of important company tasks. Communication skills must be excellent, along with attention to detail in all aspects (English skills, technical skills and general logging of information).

Object Matrix works with media companies around the world and from time to time travel abroad and out of hours technical support will be required. Another day you might be travelling abroad to give deep training on product usage. This is for a Technical Operations Manager who likes a challenge and for no two days to be the same.

Technical and Other Skills

Linux skills are essential (we use Ubuntu server mainly). If you have a strong networking background that will be helpful.

We’d expect most candidates to have 5+ years of key operations team experience – if that’s missing we’d like to understand why you think you are capable for the role.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team that operates during and outside normal business hours. If you were representing the company in a key meeting would you be comfortable carrying out that meeting?

A strong desire to work with new and upcoming technologies.

Nice to Have

Relevant Qualifications (HND, BSc, BTEC etc)

Working Hours

This is a full-time position. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week and our core business hours are UK 09:00am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday. However, as occasional travel is essential, flexible business hours will take into account hours away from base. There is also a requirement to provide out of hours support on a weekly rota basis.

What do we give you?

We are a small team of ~25 people delivering a critical storage solution to media and entertainment companies around the world. As a small team, every member can make a difference to us.
